Paul Mwangale Full Name: Paul Mwangale

Nickname: Mighty Lion of Luhya

Birth date: 11 November 1978

Place of Birth: Eldoret, Kenya

Weight: 89 kg - 196 lbs

Paul owns the only bodybuilding gym in the agricultural city Kericho. He is one of Africa’s best natural bodybuilders of all time and has won more bodybuilding trophies than any other bodybuilder from Western Kenya. He has competed at local, continental and international events, he is one of the few African natural bodybuilders to have achieved that. He is happily married and has two sons. Born in the city of Eldoret and the last born of thirteen children Paul moved to Eldoret a few years back. He works for The Walter Reed Project as an AIDS awareness promoter. He is a public figure in the city of Kericho. NTPowerHouse Africa tracked him down and here is all about the Lion of Kericho.

I started bodybuilding in 1999, acrobatics men used to come to our school and when I asked why they had good physiques I was told that they lift weights to look that good, I also started going to the gym and my body responded very quickly.

2007 Mr Eldoret, Light heavy weight Winner

My aim is to win the Mr. Kenya title and be a role model for other upcoming bodybuilders and always stay drug free. My best moment comes when I win a bodybuilding contest and the worst when fail to make it to the best seven.
My wife, my mum and my sponsor (one of the directors of James Finley tea company) play a very important role in my bodybuilding career; they give me courage to train harder.
My role models are Ronnie Coleman and Dexter Jackson.

I work out five times a week. This is my weekly training program:

Monday: Pecs and Triceps
Tuesday: Lats and biceps
Wednesday: Shoulders and Abs
Thursday: Rest
Friday: Legs, calves and abs
Saturday: Aerobics
Sunday: Rest

I mostly eat boiled rice, Ugali, and potatoes. I also include meat, fish, vegetable and other fruits on my daily diet.

The message I give to all African bodybuilders is to avoid drugs and stay natural. I thank NT Powerhouse Africa for giving me publicity.
