CJAM (Club des Jeunes Ami(e)s du Monde) has organized a contest of athletic force in Lome, Togo on December 3rd, 2006. The show was named GABA TOGO, "gaba" is a word used in Togo to refer to body strength. It was held at the main sports Stadium of Lome in the Handball court. It attracted about 500 people made up of both local and international audience. It started at 7:00 pm with bench press and squat performed by eleven candidates who were selected a few weeks ago. First round started with 140 kg bench press and all candidates were successful. Then second round followed with 150 kg bench press and some of the candidates could not stand the test of time up to the last round of 180 kg, where only one person could make it: Louis Toulabo from Vital Club Gym, Lome. The squat followed soon after the bench press with 140 kg. Each round attracted additional 20 kg up to 230 kg which only 2 people were able to go through. Amazingly in the final round of 240 kg none of the final two was able to succeed forcing the judges to give the crown to the winner of the bench press Louis Toulabo.
Hon. Richard Attipoe himself, Minister of Sports of Togo, presented a certificate of honour to the winner. To reward the participants many impressive prizes were offered by the sponsors of the event: Motor bike, TV set, Dvd player, etc.
The competition was followed by different attractions inclunding lotteries, body shows and musical interludes.
